Historical Fiction Writing Class

Historical Fiction Writing Class is a four-week online historical fiction class helps students explore famous mysteries while developing suspense, sensory details, sentence variety, and storytelling skills.

In this four week online class, we will meet once a week for 45 minutes via Zoom. We will learn about three historical events (the disappearance of the Mary Celeste, lost colony of Roanoke, mystery of Flannan Isle lighthouse). We will take elements from the historical event of our choice, as well as learn about elements of fiction and combine them to write a short historical fiction story. Students will participate in lessons and games to work on sentence structure and variety, sensory details, building suspense, and more.

This class will meet on Fridays from 11:15-12:00 Eastern standard time via Zoom. The cost is $50 for the full four weeks.
